KTP welcomes experts for mechanical joining of poymers
Guidelines for direct screw coupling has been worked out
At the beginning of March, representatives from industry and research institutes gathered, to address themselves to the task of mechanical joining of poylmers. The meeting of the research group “AG W 4.11” from the German Association for Welding and Related Methods, registered society, (DVS) was organised by the Chair of Polymer Engineering Paderborn (KTP).
Members of the research group were mainly focused on finding and redefining guidelines for direct screw coupling of polymers and the successful use of snap-action systems. This research group is an important link between industry and research, since its members represent both sides equally: Alongside numerous industry representatives, employees of the Institute for Polymer Processing, Aachen (IKV) as well as employees of the KTP were involved in the research group AG W 4.11.
More than ten experts in the area of mechanical joining from all over Germany came to Paderborn and under the guidance of chairman Helmut Humm (EJOT GmbH), they exchanged experiences and new developments to record them in the form of guidelines.
